Empty bench

Bench seat at Durham

Empty bench waiting for company

Another shot from our foray around Durham.  This bench seat was in full sunlight when we came upon it.  In some ways I thought it looked rather sad.  It’s not in a bad state of repair, but could do with a bit of a face-lift and it looked as though there really should be someone sitting on it.  It’s whole purpose is to allow people to rest in relative comfort, to give space in someones busy life to pause and maybe contemplate something other than their normal daily grind.  A place, where on that particular day, someone could just sit in the warmth of the sun and let its rays take away any cares and worries.  But there it stood, empty and unfulfilled – I daresay a bit like many lives today.

About Stephen G

Commercial lifestyle photography is what we do. My first love is landscape photography, though I would love to be a travel photographer. Personally, I follow the activities of many photographers in all genres. My other loves are ancient Egypt and Theology.
